Dan Eastwood - Founder / Director
Dan founded Firefly with a clear purpose: to make recruitment straightforward, human, and effective. Based in Brisbane, he specialises in building long-term partnerships with businesses across IT, executive search, and emerging tech. With nearly a decade of local and international experience, Dan understands that recruitment is about more than just filling roles — it’s about truly understanding the challenges businesses face and working collaboratively over time to solve them.
Known for his strong network and ability to move quickly when needed, Dan believes the real value lies in trust, insight, and ongoing collaboration.
Clients appreciate his honest communication, deep market knowledge, and calm, no-fuss approach. He’s committed to integrity and helping businesses grow by connecting them with the right people.
Outside work, Dan stays active, enjoys spending time with family, and loves being near the water — whether that’s camping, fishing, or just soaking up the outdoors. He’s also been known to try his luck with a fishing rod or two (even if the fish don’t always cooperate!)

Alex Higgs - Principal Consultant
Alex is specialist principal technology
recruiter with deep expertise in search and selection of top talent in data, business intelligence, analytics, machine learning, AI, and cyber security. He takes a consultative approach to recruitment – building strong relationships and delivering consistently high quality outcomes.
Known for his down to earth style and strong work ethic, Alex takes the time to understand what people really need, whether it’s helping a business find the right fit, or guiding a candidate through a career move. He’s proactive, reliable, and always willing to go the extra mile.
Outside of work, Alex is a proud family man and passionate footy fan. You’ll find him supporting the West Coast Eagles or watching Tottenham try their luck on game day!
